House of Museums

The City of Bourges is undertaking a major renovation project for its museum offer. Its objective: more inclusive 21st century museums, more open to the territory and meeting the new expectations of the public and societal and environmental issues.

During this period of transformation and restructuring, the Musée des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France welcomes "the House of Museums" to allow you to discover the world of museums and the renovation project. On the ground floor, a space intended for exchanges and co-construction with the public: - the presentation of "the work of the public's choice" - a fresco retracing two centuries of history of the museums of Bourges - a graphic animation to explain to you where the project is and how it is being built - videos and podcasts on the collections... - a space to organize conferences, debates, participatory workshops... - a comic strip retracing the different stages in the life of a work entering the museum - a presentation of museum professions regularly renewed...
