Domain of Châtenoy

Welcome to Isabelle and Pierre Clément, winegrowers, in Menetou-Salon, in the Center-Loire. Our house combines know-how, respect for the environment and exceptional terroir to produce wines recognized for their finesse and the richness of their aromas.

A true jewel of the Centre-Loire vineyards, the terroir of Menetou-Salon is unique. Resurgence of the secondary, its clay-limestone constitution of the Kimmeridgian is called here "Hen's Ear", because of the shape of its agglomerates of small fossilized oyster shells. Cradle of the Sauvignon blanc grape variety, the terroir/climate alliance is also remarkable for Pinot Noir. Techniques evolve but it is always the hand of man that shapes the clay. Many of our vines are old, a guarantee of regularity in the quality of our wines. In order to preserve this ancestral genetic heritage, we have carried out a mass selection on Sauvignon vines over 80 years old. This work allows us, today, to establish our new plantations with the same diversity.
