Urban Jean-Pol

Jean-Pol's ceramic training takes place between the Academies of Fine Arts in Tournai, Charleroi, as well as numerous internships in France. Having met the ceramists from Born in the 1990s, he moved to Berry in 2004.

His approach is articulated between a work of minimalist sculpture and the bowl. The immemorial container is the support of his quest in the world of shino. This mythical Japanese enamel haunts many ceramists. The migration of iron at a certain stage of cooking delivers sensations of softness and smoothness.
