This site is an area made up of natural and artificial environments which are closely linked to the creation of the Val d'Auron lake in the 70s. This area has both an alkaline low marsh and an artificial island within Lake. The biological interest of the site is based on this diversity of habitats with, on the one hand, the body of water which hosts during migration and the winter period a large and diversified birdlife (Anatidae, gulls), as well as a heronry on the within the island, and on the other hand, the alkaline low marsh which presents rare floristic processions for the Department.
