Self-taught, Jean-Luc Belleville learned from his ceramist friends, notably Alain Gentil, a singular art sculptor, and Emmanuel Buchet. Jean-Luc Belleville creates fantastic animals using traditional techniques.

After a precise modeling in sandstone and porcelain, he brings color through oxides mixed with engobes or ash enamels. Firing with wood fixes the traces of the passage of the flames. Patient and perfectionist, Jean-Luc realizes one by one all the scales or the feathers, the quills or the claws of his monsters. Spiders, roosters, hedgehogs, turtles, owls or frogs also complete this friendly, often delirious bestiary.
