Bourges and its neighboring areas are rich in an exceptional urban, landscape and architectural heritage. Thanks to this 5th edition of the Bourges Contemporain summer artistic trail, residents, art lovers and passing visitors have the opportunity to (re)discover them by taking the paths of the contemporary creation.
Du June 7 to September 22, the routes are invented in gentle mobility in Bourges and are renewed from town to village. They bring together art centers, galleries, artistic centers, educational establishments, remarkable architecture, barns, wash houses or open-air sites. Going to meet the works is to cross paths with multiple expressions, from applied, plastic, visual, sound or digital arts. The beautiful escapes and possible lines of convergence between the proposals are numerous with the participation of more than one hundred and twenty artists, on local, national, European and international courses.
Around twenty exhibitions, accompanied by artistic events, proposed visits and workshops are on offer at this atypical and plural cultural highlight, reflecting the identity and sensitivities of the places united around this 2024 program.
More than ever, and strong on the course set by the European Capital of Culture 2028, it is then a question of sharing the creation, initiatives and projects that abound in the heart of our region. To take advantage of the breathing and suspended time that summer offers to meet what makes up the essence of the artistic and cultural life of our territory. Thanks to the collective energies and lasting commitments that support and accompany Bourges Contemporain#5, it is then possible for you to see this program rich in dialogues, detours and surprises.
