Bourges markets

Thursday market Place des Marronniers @ Ad2T

Local markets are very important in the capital of Berry, a real weekly meeting between berruyers and local producers. In Bourges and its surroundings, local markets swarm in town and village squares: on the stalls you will find a range of products, real showcases of the Berry region. If you want to try exotic cuisine, you will always find stands of falafel, Indian, Italian and Spanish cuisine whose spicy aromas whet your appetite.

With us, it's simple, there are some every day, so take advantage of it!

Quality products, seasonal, old varieties, the markets are the guarantors of our heritage and our terroir. To help you with your purchases, here is the list of Berry products to take home:

  • The potato pancake. It can be puff pastry, plain, with cottage cheese or goat cheese.
  • The Crottin de Chavignol. Made and pampered in the hills of Sancerre a few kilometers from Bourges, it can be enjoyed at different stages of ripening: fresh, dry, blue or ripened, the choice is yours!
  • Berry lentils. Most commonly eaten cold in salads or soups.
  • Saint-Martin d'Auxigny apples. Whether raw or in juice, these are local apples to be consumed without moderation.

  • The many wines from here (Sancerre, Menetou-Salon, Quincy, Reuilly…) come in all colors and for all palates.
