The beach
Inaugurated in 2017, Val d'Auron beach comes alive as soon as the sun rises. The urban lake and its 850m2 of supervised bathing area in summer becomes "Bourges Plage". Want to build sand castles and swim with a view of the cathedral? It's here ! To take a break between two baths, you will find refuge in the shade of the trees, in an area equipped with picnic tables, and even barbecues, to enjoy with family or friends. To occupy the most sporty among us, Beach Volleyball and petanque courts promise long wild games.
Lake tour
Going around Lake Auron is one of the favorite activities of the locals, with its 5,5km circumference, it is an ideal loop for family walks as well as for experienced athletes. Connected to the city center by the green ring road, whether by walking, running or driving, the layout is conducive to all styles of walk. It is not uncommon to come across migratory birds on your way that have taken up residence on the island. Geese and ducks have their own beach, not shy, they will welcome you.

Nautic base
Several clubs share Lake Auron to offer you quality nautical activities. First the Bourges Canoe-Kayak Club, it offers canoe or kayak rental, Sand Up Paddle (information on 06.86.23.59.41). Daily or weekly sailing and initiation courses are offered at the Val d'Auron sailing base (information on 06.70.77.66.23). IRowing Club of Bourges, to row solo or in a team, offers introductory courses and courses during school holidays (information on 02.48.67.94.46).
Land sports
Around the lake, other sports are possible on dry land. Lands of tennis free access are available to the delight of snowshoe fans. For riders, the Arthur Walnut skate park is the playground for lovers of skateboarding, scooters, rollerblades, BMX… Inaugurated in 2020, the skate park is divided into two parts. One called the "bowl" in the shape of a pit, with beautiful slopes and the "street" part inspired by the city and street furniture. A few steps away, the Golf of Bourges extends over more than 75 hectares. For horse lovers, The Equestrian Center Pony Club of Val d'Auron offers walks, baptisms and initiations for all ages. With around twenty ponies, around ten horses, two indoor riding arenas, two arenas and a cross-country course, you will find what you are looking for, go at full gallop! Shared leisure
We know a world where the child is king, where children's laughter mixes with adults, a world where fun rules. Direction the Mini Park – The World of Children, near the Moulin du Porche, more than 4000m2 for the whole family in a natural setting on the southern shores of Lake Auron.
